Tax Return Deadline Day

As usual I've left it to the last minute to send my tax return online. They've changed the format too, so it took me a bit longer, but it's finally completed and I've paid my debts!

Spent a lovely night catching up with Teresa and Mike last night and finally learnt to play Rummikub. We had this game at Mum's but I could never get the hang of it, so Chris kept hold of it when we divided up the games. Might have to borrow it back now...

Held a Pyjama Party at Brownies this week with hot chocolate, marshmallows and teddy bear games. They all had a lovely time and we agreed to do a sleepover this year.

Photo of Sarah (newest recruit who sits next to me at work - I must have talked her into it!), me and Louise in our JimJams!

Bye Bluebell

Rebecca had her last day in Bluebell room on Tuesday with a trial in Willow today. She was unsettled at first but then had a lovely day so that is good news. I am more worried than she is! She came home with a huge handprint painting which we made a big fuss of.

Yesterday the Bluebell staff took some lovely photos of her activities for her scrapbook. I love this dinner time picture even if she has got food all over her chin and needs a desperate hair cut! Just got to get round to scrapping the pages...!

Where is January going?

I can't believe it is the 25th of January already. Most of this month has been spent either being ill or looking after someone else being ill! However, the last 5 days have been more productive and I've managed to get lots of jobs done that have been looming for weeks.

Yesterday we finally got some flooring for the kitchen. We redecorated the kitchen in 2006 when I was pregnant with Rebecca but didn't do the floor due to a leaky washing machine. Better late than never. Luckily with a small kitchen the vinyl only cost £45 and Mick laid it in about 90 minutes. He is a star! It looks so much better and is warm under my feet, unlike the freezing tiles. Rebecca was excited to see the work and joined in with Daddy, "cutting" the vinyl with her Early Learning Centre knife!

A new blog for a New Year

Ah ha! I have finally given in and decided to get a blog! Apologies to those who have decided to read it. I am not sure how often I will manage to update and use this...I also don't have a clue what I am doing so bear with me please...

I mainly hope to use this space to upload photographs of projects - we'll see!

I realised today that it is already 2nd January, which means I should have opened my new Cup Cakes daily calendar, given to me for Christmas. I think the gift-giver is hoping to also be recipe tester!
Happy New Year...
